Visionary Fiction is a type of genre. Many authors write in one main genre with a focus on another; Romantic Comedy, Crime Thriller etc.. But, wait…What is it? Visionary fiction is fiction in which the expansion of the human mind drives the plot forth—not to be confused with Metaphysical fiction, which focuses on the connection of mind, body and spirit, although both are closely related and often interwoven.
To many people, we live in a time where logic rivals with intuition and fear causes complacency. What does that even mean? People are afraid to believe in what they can’t see for themselves—paranormal, pre-cognition, 3rd-eye sensing, re-incarnation and altered mind-frames to name a few. And, unfortunately, cast off their sensing as mere coincidence.
Logic and science go hand-in-hand, suggesting that there is one way in life—the logical one, based on conclusive evidence proved by reliable and tangible sources. Not wrong, but certainly not complete. After all, we are spiritual beings made up of mind, body and spirit.
Intuition, along with the aforementioned and a host of other visionary concepts, is less 3-dimensional, albeit just as worthy. Visionary fiction embraces expanded consciousness—a powerful consciousness we are all connected to, and by way of story-telling teaches a deeper understanding of self and our connection to the whole—enter universal oneness. Have you ever wondered how things like ‘perfect timing’ happen? Think—divine intervention, synchronicity, and saved-by-the-bell type moments…hmmm.
Visionary fiction creates an awareness for this flow of universal energy and encourages one to awaken to their own powers of intuition, knowing and connectiveness—bringing forth absolute mindfulness. Now this is power!
The universe sends nudges, signs and synchronicities to each of us, all of the time and if we are aware, it is here that a deeper understanding of our own truths can emerge. Allow yourself to explore them. These truths are what lead us to our most authentic existence and best lives while destroying fear-based mentalities.
My debut novel—Voice of the Red Dragonfly, is a combination of romantic visionary and metaphysical fiction. Ruby Jacobs struggles to uncover her own truths and open herself up to the universal guidance and like many of us, at first dismisses such concepts. My aim as a Visionary fiction writer is to take readers on a journey of self-actualization, alongside relatable characters—evoking imagination while cultivating new attitudes and deepening their understanding of what’s possible.
Visionary fiction unveils timeless truths relevant to modern-day living—prompting higher awareness, directed toward the universal quest for happiness.
Isn’t that all we really want anyway… to be happy?
Be Happy.
